Welcome to Sardar Patel Memorial College
Sardar Patel Memorial College, Udantputi is named after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel great freedom, the first deputy prime minister, and one of the architects of modern India. Sometimes, the college is referred to by its abbreviated name S.P.M. College, Udantpuri. It was established in 1974 on the ruins of landmark Udantpuri University which was founded by the king of Pal dynasty Gopala in 8 the century AD. That’s why; the college has become famous with the suffix “Udantpuri”. The university witnessed an era of scholastic achievement in Buddhist teachings, where at least 12000 scholars researched and studied at a time. The college was established by local philanthropists to impart holistic education to the deprived and poor budding youths of society. It was converted into a constituent unit of Magadh University, Bodh Gaya in 1980. The college has become a constituent unit of Patliputra University, Patna since March 2018.
